Alfredo Oriani con la bicicletta. Opera di Angelo Biancini

Description: This famous bronze statue depicts Faentine writer and politician Alfredo Oriani by the sculptor and ceramist from Castelbolognese Angelo Biancini (1911-1988), a naturalised citizen of Faenza. The “prototype” again in bronze and created in 1963 is in Casola Valsenio, where Oriani lived in the Cardello depicting him with his faithful bicycle. This is a replica of the original, a gift from the artist to the Municipality of Faenza and placed here in 1987.

Directions: From via Manzoni take Corso Mazzini and head towards piazza II giugno, following it to the Scuole medie “Lanzoni” high school, where there is a garden behind the church of San Domenico. The monument can be seen opposite the ITC “Oriani” Institute.
