A large high relief of 1966 created as a decoration for the façade of the Istituto per Geometri “A.Oriani” – senior high school for surveyors.

Explaination: A large high relief mounted on the façade of the Istituto Tecnico-Commerciale per Geometri “A.Oriani” – Technical-commercial senior high school for surveyors, next to the main entrance. It was made, like a further three located inside (they can be seen by simply asking permission at the school) in 1966. Here Zauli counter-posed the rigid horizontal lines of the building with the soft waves of his panel in which a geometric form – the rectangle – is repeated in a way that is always slightly deformed, and nearly animated. At each extremity two different forms stand out: one is a bowl (a kind of archetype of the ceramic object) and the other is a sort of reticular cage probably symbolising the perforated brick, a modern, symbolic construction element.

Directions: As the panel is located on the outside façade of the school (next to the main entrance), it is always visible. Via Manzoni can be reached from corso Mazzini, turning for piazza II giugno and then going along the right side of the scuola media “Lanzoni” junior high school.
