Explaination: Il Cardello situated by the SS 306, about 600 meters from Valsenio Abbey, is the building where the writer Alfredo Oriani spent most of his life. The building originally housed the guest quarters of the Valsenio Abbey (about X century), only part of its original character remains as it was heavily altered in 1926.Inside the house, the typical bourgeois Romagna style furnishings and fittings are still preserved. Part of the author’s personal library can still be seen.
Additional notes: Il Cardello is surrounded by a lush beautiful park with century-old plants. The tomb of writer Alfredo Oriani is inside the park. Il Cardello and the surrounding land is currently the property of the Casa Oriani Foundation.
